radiator question?

i was reading the forums lately about radiator fan. said i could take one fan out which is the driver side one because it's the ac. so i took that one out yesterday, and today i went to work and then my radiator was squirting out coolant water....it had a hole on the top of the radiator....
is that because i took the fan off and it was getting really hot that's why it does that???
do i have to buy a new radiator..???if so which one do ya dsmer recommend?????i like alum but not too pricy..

AC fan only comes on when you either turn on the AC or the coolant temperatures reach 240* F.
So no, most likely removing your AC fan had nothing to do with it. Unless you're retarded and somehow cracked it while removing it. Dial 1-800-Radiator for your needs. (I'm serious btw)

No. On a 2g, the stock AC fan (condenser fan) comes on when either you turn on the AC, OR the coolant temps and vehicle speed exceed certain values. The stock fans also have multiple speeds. See attached right out of the 99 Mitsu Eclipse factory manual.

I agree the radiator was probably ready to go anyway and the overheat just brought it out sooner. Just overheating should not break a radiator unless it has a problem.

But you need both fans to keep from overheating (under all conditions) or if you don't have AC you might get away with 1 fan that's jumpered to be on all the time the engine is. But even this is not guaranteed in all climates.
