So here's the thing. I went to get a custom exhaust built with my friend a couple days ago. While we were just chillin and waiting for it to get done, we were talking to his brother. His brother is ridiculously smart with just about any car. We got to talking and I told him my future plans for my DSM. When we were chatting, I realized that my mod list would not work. I have FWD and I'd rather not have to deal with the car wanting to go everywhere on the road. My previous idea for a setup involved the punishment racing gt35r package and a few years of hard work. Well, I realized that it would just not be worth it for a FWD car. So I've narrowed it down to what I want to do with this car now. At some point after this I will buy an AWD DSM, but for now, Im gonna push my FWD to breaking point without putting ridiculous amounts of money into it, as going to college and trying to build a DSM does not work out very well. Sorry this is long, but I'd like feed back so I can start planning this, since my budget will involve mostly birthday, xmas and money from my 7$/hr job. Here's what Im thinking so far:

The mods list in my profile is current, so all of that im mostly keeping.
Keep in mind: I WANT AS MUCH TOP END OUT OF THIS CAR AS POSSIBLE, It will be for highway pulls only, and used on the weekends/whenver I want to go fast. I dont want reckless amounts of power, just enough to make me happy everytime I drive it

Engine: ARP studs, OEM metal headgasket, stock internals, upgraded valve springs and valves possibly, Crower cams(most likely 272's)
Drivetrain: ACT 2600 clutch, I have shifter bushings, possibly a light weight flywheel but i dont know how much that will help with high-end power

Suspension: KYB AGX's and springs, prothane mounts where I can

Turbo/Intercooler/Intake: NOT A EVO VIII. So many people run them and I'l like to be a little different. Possibly an 18g. FMIC and custom piping. Stock IM, and either a forced performance exhaust manifold or a ported 2g one. Any suggestions for turbo options?

Tuning and Fuel:
DSMLink
850cc FIC's
an AFPR package from either MAPerformance or ExtremePSI
walbro 255lph pump(rewired if I have to)

That's all Ive got right now. It's still a little rough, but im hoping you guys can help me smooth it out. I dont just want to jump into something because I did that before and ended up paying quite a bit more than expected. I just want lots of top end. Good response on the highway, and boost as quickly as possible. Right now Im focused on getting this thing running good. But come winter, that motor is coming out and ill be tearing it apart and get the motor part of this set. Then I can go from there. Any suggestions or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Those seem pretty solid. The 3052 is a little outta my price range I'd say. But thanks for those links. I just got my car running up to par tonight, so it's ready to start making highway pulls. Also, Im not worried power wise or how fast it'll do the 1/4 mile in. Whatever I end up making for power is not too important to me. And I want it to kick in HARD. Lag doesn't concern me, I just want to make my passengers say"....Oh, this isnt tha....HOLY CRAAAAAAAAAPPP!!!!" So keep the links and personal experience/ suggestions coming. I need criticism, too. It's never bad.

x2 on the hx35. iv been reading alot about these turbos and it will be my next turbo when my e316g gives up the ghost.

LOL uh, no thanks. it's got a huge turbine housing, but $3440 for the BB version is a little much for me. I didn't even pay that much for the car. Im gonna do some more research on the Holset during lunch tomorrow, It seems pretty good from what little info I've seen on it.

I run a 3052 on my car right now at 18psi, and Ill be running it till I max it out on my built 6-bolt (once I build it). I think with a SMIM, 272s, and lots of boost on the built 6-bolt will net some nice horsepower.

My h1c is showing signs of flow that are where the 20g maxes out. It is a bolt on turbo if you get the BEP .55 a/r housing like I have. It spools as fast as the small 16g. You may not care about lag, but if you don't have it AND you have 48lb/min peak, you'r smile gets this big: {<<<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>>}. LOL. all jokes a side, the hx35 is the better version of my turbo. So if you want cheaper fun and over 48lb/min potential, go for the h1c. For a little more you, have the same spool and a more modern design and a little better flow with the hx35. Both FAR, FAR, FAR more affordable than any gt turbo, which are unrebuildable on top of that. And FAR, FAR, FAR faster spooling than any 50-trim, 60-1, or 56 trim (fpgreen, sc60, sc61 & gt35r).

wow, well If that will give me a smile that big then I'll look into it some more. Thanks dsm-onster.

Got around to doing little more research on the slow wifi at college. The HX35 seems like a solid choice, the turbine housing options from BEP are what really opened my eyes to it. I think, with a bit mroe research, that turbo will be my choice. Keep the suggestions comin' guys.

So im stuck on either a T3 or stock mitsu flanged turbine housing. Any suggestions? Im kinda leaning toward T3, since I'd rather buy a tubular manifold for better flow.

Do you mean you want to go T3 because of the tubular manifold? They make tubular manifold for mitsu flanges. Anyways I would say that any aftermarket mitsu flange will hold its own against the T3 especially the FP30 hotside. I think T3 just opens up more of a market for you regarding turbos.

That's true, the market does get bigger with those. The one that comes with the HX35 from theturbotrader.com can have either turbine housing. Reason for asking is how they flow in the top end, but I know mitsu turbine housings flow good, just seeing if a T3 would be a better choice for my setup.
