Is it easy to replace it without taking anything out? But maybe the battery.

It can a bit difficult to access it. I believe most guys take out the battery and reach in from the passenger side. But I did it from underneath the car. There are some things in the way that make it hard to see but you can reach your hand in there and do it by feel. It's quite easy once you find it.

Be careful not to over tighten it. I forget the torque spec off the top of my head, I want to say around 16lb ft but you should double check that. It's hard to get a torque wrench in there so you can get it as tight as you can by hand then get a wrench on there and tighten it another 1/8-1/4 turn.

I personally think it's easier from the driverside of the vehicle. I just cut a 1 1/16 wrench in half, and got it out. It's right below the runner for the #2 cylinder. Be sure you dont twist the wires on the new one while trying to tighten it back up. It can be a pita, but it took me about 15minutes to get the job done. Also im not sure about the 15/16ths wrench. The brand knock sensor i have is a BWD, and its 1 1/16:thumb:

on the 1g talon /laser it is a15/16 wrench for the stock knock sensor because the wrench is still sitting in my wrench box ,and I just pulled my cylinder head off about 1 hour ago and I did check the size on the sensor just to make sure .hope this helps .
