im looking for help on the following.
on my turbo gauge on my cluster (the stock turbo gauge) i was told that when im idling in nutral my turbo needle should be at the second line (form the bottom up) and mine is about half way of the first half

i drew a pic of where my needle is when i idle and i wana know if thats where its suppose to be or if its a sign that i have a boost leak.

If you think it is a leak, just build a boost leak tester.. You can get the supplies from Lowes or Home Depot for about $20 and it is great to have around.. Just hooks up to the turbo housing, you pump it up and see if the system holds the pressure or not. If not you will hear the hissing from the leak source

Good drawing, best i've seen in a while. How ever the stock boost gauge is really nothing to go by. You will want to invest in an after market boost guage that has real numbers on it. Another way to tell if you have a leak is to build or borrow a boost leak tester then hook it up to your turbo and put air through it, and spray soapy water over where each pipe meets each other, the couplers and throttle body if any thing starts to bubble up then you have air leaking out... Thats the jist of it there are more complete information on boost leak testers out there, just hit up the search feature

I still say boost leak tester.. Best investment youi will ever make with a turbo'd car..

Just for a reference, here was my stock boost gauge (when I first got the car) at idle.

Everyone else has hit it on the spot though.

Do a boost leak test at the turbo and at the throttle body.
Get a real boost gauge.
