I have a PTE SC61 rated for 630 and its spoolin on my built motor at around 4500RPMs. If you can get this turbo at a good price it wouldnt be bad, but like he said spool is going to be around 5500RPMs. Just throw some spray o rmeth on it and the RPMs will go down. ;)

Look, anyone telling you exactly when your turbo will spool is giving you BS. You can make close approximations based on the setup, but everyone is different. Important variables to consider are displacement, cams, compression ratio, exhaust, intercooler size, AFR, and timing. All of those play some part in determining spool. To answer the question the 2.3 should spool any given turbo faster. Search these forums for people with similar setups and see if you can find out when they see full spool, or call precision.
