hey, kinda new here at DSMtuners i guess. Anyways, got my car dyno'd at a local meet last saturday and im sorta impressed. i was runnning way rich for being "tuned" by previous owner. I'm wondering if my afr looks correct because i was way rich on the dyno. this was on the Dyno Dynamics dyno and i've heard they dont work well with the awd cars.

Definitly running rich, you need to retune your car. Your loosing power and hurting your motor by running that rich.

i've got an s-afc and im wondering if the HI and LOW points could have effected it. here they are.

HI- 1000-3000 (-14) 4000(-12) 5000-8000(-10)
LOW- 1000-3000(-18) 4000(-15) 5000-8000(-10)

i've got 550cc and the 190...do i need a fpr??

if the wideband on the dyno was correct; you deff went lean from around 5k to 5.8k, if i can remember correctly you can adjust in 500rpm incriments with the afc. try riching thoose points out. you shouldent need a fpr yet...
the rest of the run looks about right, dont listen to performance shops that dont specialize in dsm.s i went to a dyno meet a couple of weeks ago and the shop manager told me that i was rich too, he said to bring up the afr to like low to mid 12;s i was like bro are you ####i* crazy! you dont tune dsms for lean afr's, you tune for high timing and boost. keep your a/fs within 10;1 and 11;1 this is a safe and effective ballpark.

you should really look into getting a widband and a logger of some sort(if you got the money go with dsmlink)so you can do some street tuning , hope this helps a little , good luck

People still use AFC's? Why?

Dude dont post these dumb comments, keep them to yourself, they dont help this thread at all. I will hopefully soon be making 400whp on a safc, maf-t, 16g, 1200cc injectors just to show you dont need to spend $600 on an EMS.

To the OP you are running way lean. Its jumping up all the way to 14:1 which is incredibly lean and has to be detonating. You need to purchase a wbo2 and get that fuel curve around 10.9-11.1 on pump gas.

I remember seeing your car at the dyno day 2of9.

You are running waaay too rich up until 5,000 rpms or so and then you have a lean spike there and then it gets back down to acceptable levels. Lean it out below 5,000 rpms and then richen it up a bit a little after that. I would advise getting a wideband o2 sensor/gauge so you can see exactly where you are though when you tune or have Shane at DB give it a nice and quick street/dyno tune just to get it into acceptable levels.

what level of boost are you running?and what gas?

^^those runs, i was running at 17 psi and than it fell to 15ish. I'll post up pics of the PSI chart later. thanks for all the replys guys. much help:thumb: and totaleclipse_05, which car were you? did you dyno? I'm probably going to bring my car to MAP just for a quick retune though.

I am glad I'm not the only one who thought you were going very lean for a portion of the run. Also I had my car dyno'd at MAP... nice guys. I would just be very careful... that is dangerous territory to be that lean under boost. Also though, it could have been the O2 sensor being used... Get a second oppinion :)

If you have a 16g evo 3 and running 17 psi and get 199 hp ? something is not right.

hell yeah...i lost a bet to my brother and had to pay for a full tank of gas. I was estimating at least 220 awhp. but this was on a Dyno Dynamics Dynometer and if im correct, its about 18-20%(?) awhp lost. 2 stock Evos were also just getting the 225 awhp mark also and that made me guess that this dyno does not "help" awd cars much. Well...i will for sure get a wideband next and a retune from MAP this fall. I'll let you guys know how it goes. For the next mod, BC 272s for sure.
