Automatic DSM

I have searched and found nothing, my question is the key where the bolts are for the crank is it needed for an Automatic Dsm. Or can I grind off the key

Thats what I thought but I wasn't sure. When I did my at>mt swap I couldn't get it out so I just took a grinder and ground it down flush. Took a good 20 minutes but it worked great!

But it is for automatics, so I'm not sure why you'd want to take it off

Should it be removed?

Do you have the spacer ring that fits into the end of the crankshaft that touches the flex plate? Manuals do not have these and an auto tranny needs ones.

I have two flexplate spacers. Do the spacer(s) go on first then the flexplate.

If you do have the steel ring that inserts into the crankshaft and you still hit the fly wheel key then grind it off.

I don't remember my crank having that on there when I swapped it out. It almost looks like a stripped bolt. I'd say grind it down, but you probably will need the spacer that inserts into the crank
