I saw the Fuelab fpr on extremepsi.com for about 200 dollars and I was wondering if the fuelab regulater is good for our cars and if it will rise 1:1 like the Aeromotive unit. I was also wondering if they would reliable from someone who has been running one for a while. It is not much cheaper but it is another option. If no one really uses it I will just go with the tried and true Aero. Thanks

I also noticed that the fuelab uses a liquid filled guage. Is that any better than a normal guage?

Here is the link-

I'm using a Fuelab fpr. I've got about a 1000 miles on it and everything seems to be great. It does rise 1:1 like the Aeromotives. Haven't had any problems starting the car because of pressure drop off, so I'm happy.

I have one as well, I'm really happy with it. The liquid filled gauge is not made by fuelab - you can use a non-liquid filled gauge if you wanted.

The liquid in the gauge is supposed to absord the shock of the needle bouncing around all the time so yes they're supposed to be better. Fuelab seems to be a fairly new company all the forums I post on members just now starting using their fpr and fuel filters but they all seem to like them because of the color options.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I am going to get one...just because I can get it in purple..j/k. I like that fact that the kit has everything including AN line and a guage which makes it a complete plug and play, and I like that...its makes my job easier:D

Haha I got a purple one too :p

I just bought mine about 3 weeks ago, so far it's been good except it takes about twice the cranking to start in the morning now, but most people seem to think that's just because the fuel pump has to pressurize a lot more volume now.

The kit was decent, although the instructions were only for assembling the FPR itself and nothing to do with the lines or how to attach them to the old FPR location, etc... But if you've ever worked with AN lines at all it'll be a snap.

Anyway, totally happy with the quality of it.

You bypassed the fuel pressure solenoid when you hooked up the vacuum line directly from the IM to the vacuum reference port; this is why it takes longer on a cold start.

Route the vacuum line from the intake manifold port to one side of the FP solenoid (the one on the firewall that's looped to itself) then route a line from the the FP solenoid to the reference port on the fuel pressure regulator. Should start right up again :thumb:

I know this is a couple months old, but I was searchin around and came across this. Isn't the FPS used to aid in HOT starts, not cold starts? Doesn't it close, so vacuum can't get through on start up so it stays at a constant fuel pressure? I was just wondering, because mine take's a few cranks to start as well, and i don't have the FPS. I'm not to worried about it, just curious.

I haven't had my FPS for a long time and my car starts up normally.

I know I am bumping a thread that's ancient. However, I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be around for any FUELAB tech support questions. Feel free to send me a PM if you are having any issues with our products. I will do my best to get things lined out. Please do not send sales questions- direct those inquiries to the supporting vendor of your choice. We do not sell direct to the public. I am simply here to fill a tech supprt role.

My main purpose in posting in this thread is for someone to find me/my contact info when/if they have a problem with our products. When most people have a problem with a particular part, they will get on their favorite message forum and search for a solution. My thinking is that someone might stumble across my post while doing a search- he or she will have direct access to FUELAB tech support on the forum. Additionally, any tech info that I post will be public knowledge and avaiable for someone else in the future. :thumb:

You can also call STM and tell them you want this kit minus the afpr. I suggest this one over the ExtremePSi kit just because the proclassic hose is 9x easier to work with than the SS line.
