Yes did search. Now I have rebuilt my engine over winter with a new turbo. Mostly stock rebuild. I bought a turbonetics boost controller. I was only able to boost about 8LB's I figures no big deal it will help control me from whomping on a brand new engine. I Now have 1500 miles on the engine and 1200 on the turbo. Im going to the track next weekend and i want my boost up to 16. I have it hooked up to the j-pipe and the wastegate. I have heard many people say to hook it up to the bov line. What could it be? Do I have the lines hooked up wrong? Lines on backwards? Or is my mbc messed up.

Is it a ball and spring, or a bleeder valve type?

Hope this helps.

Don't hook it up to the bov line. I am going to say that the boost controller is bad. If the lines were hooked up backwards it should boost more than you want.

This is the one i bought. I bought it brand new. so I would a asume it would work.

Turbonetics Manual Boost Controller

I agree with 1992awdlaser with the stuff I have read it normally ends up being the MBC its self, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't check all the basics first (also having a good friend that would let you swap out one may come in handy). Just looked at the pic of the one you provided, it seems like its a lot more stuff to it (more complicated) then my SBR MBC so their may be a greater chance of something being hooked up incorrectly I suppose. However if you can get your hands on some simple test MBC that may be your best bet and hook it up like the first pic on my above response.

Also I just noticed on the site you provided they give you a choice of 3 different models
Up to 10psi (10402-10)
Up to 25psi (10402-25)
Up to 50psi (10402-50)

I would think you have the 10402-25 but just wanted to be sure, so which one do you have?
(also remember to give us an update to let us know what your problem ended up being, thanks)

ok . SO its the mbc. I took it off I tried blowing through it and adjusting it. Stayed the same air flow the whole time I turned it from full boost to nothig. I keeping blowing just as hard. I took it apart everything looks good nothing looks outta place or broken or damaged.

Do you think that turbonetics will back this product.

Maybe, I haven't used turbonetics at all yet, so not really sure. But it can't hurt to try, when did you buy it are you still within 30 days? I know the one I have form SBR Slowboy Racing, Inc. :: DSM :: Turbo Accessories :: Boost Controllers :: SBR :: Red SBR Boost Contoller is backed for the life of the product and all I have to do is pay shipping if something goes wrong. You can ask turbonetics if they have something like that and maybe even point to this one and ask them why they don't back their products like other MBC stores do. Well let us know how it turns out when you use the next one.

This thread is 100 years old but I may have found a solution to this issue. I have had this boost controller for a Long time now and have never been able to figure out why it won't work turning up the boost. After taking it apart today I finally realized that the nut doesn't appear to make contact with the spring inside. So I found a similar size nut and dropped in the hole along with the one that comes inside. So now it has 2 which now makes contact with the spring and it can now be adjusted. But before you do this turn it all the way down. So you don't over boost. I'll keep everyone updated on progress but it seems good so far.
