Hi to everybody,
I have a 1G eclipse and I want to mount the new gauges I bought, but I don't know how to remove the transparent plastic... I mean I don't know how to remove the button used for resetting the milage which doesn't let me remove the transparent plastic, it seems not to unscrew or be removed and I'm frightened of breaking it.
Please help me! please... please...
Dalailama.

P.S.:I'm sorry for my little english.

This is how it's done in the 2g's, and I can't think of how it'd be different. Hopefully this helps. First you need to just pull the plastic piece surrounding the clear piece out. just push up and pull, it'll eventually snap right out. Next you'll see 2-4 screws to pull the clear piece out, and same thing for the actual guages. I'd give you more of an explanation but My car isn't here currently but that is 90% sure of that's how to do it.

Thank you very much for your help,
but I can't understad one thing:
the clear piece of plastic (the transparent one) doesn't come off because there is the top of the reset button which is fatter than the hole through which it moves.
I speak about that thin black cilinder made of plastic which you can push down to reset the counter of the partially milage. I've tryed to unscrew normally or while pushing down, but it seems to free rotate... probably it's me the one who is wrong...
...the clear plastic is completely removed only if I'm able to remove that thin clinder!
Thanks you again.

I know, but I can't figure how to unscrew it because it free rolls... and stays there without unscrewing! I have to pull up or push down while unscrewing??
Thanks.

You don't unscrew that reset pin. That's attached to the gauge cluster. Pop out that plastic piece that goes around the clear piece and you'll see phillip screws. Those are what you unscrew. hope this helps.

ok, but the top of the pin (the part which stay out of the clear plastic) is not as thin as the hole, so when I try to remove the clear plastic it remains blocked by the top of that pin... is it possible? ...or I have to press the pin through the hole a little?

Thank you Kalisko,
I saw that guide previously.
You are really polite and I don't intend to annoy you, but that guide shows how to remove the total cluster from the dash, what I need is only to remove the clear plastic.
I'll show in a picture (it's not mine I found it on the forum):
is there anyone in this forum who knows and can show me how to remove that pin from a 1G and let me remove the clear plastic?
Thanks!
