Cheap Coil tech thread - Worth it?

It looks like a good idea thats cheap and works. My questions are..
How much better than stock is this?
Are there any comparable systems at a around the same price?
And are there any drawbacks?

it's my understanding that most who do this do so for the bling value not really an upgrade persay.

And your understanding would be correct. But they do look damn cool!

COP's are only beneficial if you have a high quality CDI. Otherwise, the stock system will handle pretty much anything the average person would need.
