Syncronizing Injectors?

I'm building an engine for my car right now and while assembling i noticed that one of my new PTE 880 injectors is damaged on the end. I have not yet run these yet, however i have had them for about 9 monthes so warranty is not an option. I talked to my local shop and they said you can buy a single injector, but you need to send the other 3 back to the company and they need to sync them to the new one and it would cost $25 each injector to sync them plus $75 for a new one. Has anyone ever heard of this. I would think that with all injectors being new they should all be in the same tolerance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Did the originals come with a flow test sheet? I'm not sure if they do, but if they did, you could easily see if the new one is similar.

No the new ones do not come with any flow tests. The only designation on them is a seperate serial numbers and they said that will not help with flow characteristics.

Well i would think, that unless your were going to sync the originals, you will likely be fine. They don't know if they are selling these things in pairs of 4,6 or 8. So realistically they are just packaging 4 of the same "general" size. You add one more, it's no different then if they had of picked that one up and packaged it originally. The only way you can sync and dial them in is by having it done at an injector shop, I'm guessing most of the time people don't and just throw them in. So your call.

Thanks for the advice, i didn't know how critical it was, that's why i wanted to ask and see if anyone has run into this before.
