I'm looking to get a set of 550's for my g/f's auto. (Mods are in profile) I will be also adding a 2g maf. I found a fuel kit that comes with disc style injectors but you can upgrade to ball type...What are the differences between ball and disc types?

Ball style injectors generally have better atomization characteristics and a wider spray pattern than the disc style injectors. Read more in this link and this link and this link and this link.

Well I was going to get the whole kit with 550's, 190 pump, and an safc. If I can piece it together cheaper than a kit then I'm sold. Thanks for your input guys.

Chris

Yeah, evo injector are 560's and will drop right in. I have never heard of them flowing higher then what they are rated at though. You can get these for probably $50 if you find somebody local or if you get them from a junkyard. The pump you can get off ebay new for $85.

Evo injectors = $120 shipped (sometimes as low as 60 shipped)
walbro 190 kit & apexi neo = $377.45 shipped @ extremepsi.com
total = $ 497.45 shipped

Extreme psi kit with 550's (ball style), walbro 190, apexi neo = $ 632.45 shipped

you decide... :)

Very few people can put a 255 on and not have a problem with the stock fpr. You can mod the stock one to make it work though.

Um don't really know what your talking about cause I ran it on my 90 laser turbo and had absolutely no problems. My friend runs it on his 98 gst with no problems. Explain to me what problems people run into.

I just don't really see the point in a 190. It's gonna limit you down the road as you mod your car more and more. Then your stuck buying ANOTHER fuel pump and spending more money. And this guy is trying to spend his money wisely.

You will overrun the stock regulator. Nothing too serious. The stock regulator can be modded like I said. If you don't mod it and you overrun it you can screw up the rings depending on how much you overrun it since you will be dumping more fuel in the cylinders. When you do this it washes down the cylinder walls and then the rings will soak up the gas and get contaminated. It can also create worse gas mileage. Of course you can also fix this with an aftermarket fpr.

I agree with you about he should get a 255 instead but he should know what I just mentioned before he just buys one and puts it on. The only reason I mentioned the 190 was because he did first.

That's interesting. I know what you mean though. I like to mod properly and do things the right way...so yes doing an aftermarket FPR would be a good idea. And the thing is, it's not too expensive to go with an aeromotive FRP kit. Bout $225 I believe. And that inlcudes AN fittings and stainless lines. Very nice touch to the engine bay too.

Cars not getting past a 14b on 20psi at most. So unless I'm gonna NEED a 255 theres no sense in buying one.

A rewired 190 will be able to handle that. But everybody says I am going to stop at this point. Then they get to that point and upgrade more.

Well its not going to be my car anymore after this so I'm not worried about it. When SHE wants to upgrade SHE can pay for it...LOL
