Not quite sure but I am almost positive that you would not pass, as I have never had to do emissions. Anyways the cat doesn't take that much hp away from your engine.

I don't think you will pass either. But i do like the sound of a 1g with straight piping all the way back and just a muffler. Had a 91 tsi awd myself like that. Sounds manly LOL :sneaky:

mods in profile, smogged as is.
She blew roses out the tailpipe, and that's with 720's, 3" DP and 3" cat-back with a Magna Flow High Flow Cat part number, Product Search Results - MagnaFlow Catalytic Converters by Car Sound I only paid $180 shipped, but if you put 43009 in google, you can come up with a much cheaper price than $500....

My buddy has a 1g with the RRE DP with the same Cat and N1 cat-back, and passed as well.
Both AWD of course, You're a FWD, so you will have to go on the rollers.

I had a GST once with a Megan 3" DP, same Cat, and the Megan cat-back, but stock injectors.

Without a cat, you'll never pass smog; think about it. When you go shop for a cat, get a 3 inch magnaflow or any reputable brand cat-converter thats 3 inches. If you don't wanna deal with that, go buy a used one off a parts car.
