here is how I solved the whole leaky PCV thing:

I purchased a new fram unit from the parts store. It leaked, like they all do. Then I went to mitsu and purchased the hose that goes from the valve cover to the brake booster. The new version of this hose has a nice check valve built in. I cut it to length for my PCV system and walla!:sneaky:

I'm also confused. There are only two vaccuum lines on the VC: the breather to the intake pipe and the PCV valve line to the intake manifold.

Anyway, how does it idle? The PCV valve is a metering orifice. If the check valve restricts flow too much, that might make it idle rough.

Have you done a boost leak test to see if the check valve leaks at 20psi?

Might be a good cheap-o mod if it all checks out, though the check valves from USPlastics are pretty cheap.:thumb:

What "leaky PCV thing"? WTF

Why didn't you just pick up the Mits PCV while you were there?

So you used a brake booster check valve for a PCV valve?

My effing god. :toobad:

I'm a firm believer in the plastic check valves from USPlastic as the best solution, although I have yet to try them. I've purchased two new OEM Mitusbishi PCV valves and both of them leaked, although not as badly as the old wore out one of course.
