Here's the background on the car since the last time it was running... 92.5 auto, replaced the fuel pump(255),installed an evoIII, installed an safc2(yes i used the pink and orange wires), replaced the stock 390's with blue tops, hooked up the datalogger.
Here is the problem... I just got done charging the battery and tried to start the car to only be kicked in the teeth by the car not starting and the logger giving me DTC 42. The pump is not rewired(yet) and was bench tested prior to install. Using the logger I can activate the FP relay(good), I just can't figure this out. Now I'm waiting for my full 3" turbo back that is coming this week and I really want to get this thing running.

255 pump is good and all, and upgrading the injectors is good too, but did you remember to get a Fuel Pressure Regulator? If not, that 255 pump is probably running fuel rampantly into your cylinders without being regulated. You might be getting a super rich condition as the stock FPR isn't meant to handle something of that size.

adjustable? No. but even putting the old denso pump back in it still does the same thing...nothing. I'm going to order the AFPR this week but in the mean time I'd like to get it to start even if it does run pig rich

Did a little more research checked the pump operation with the check terminal and it is ok. next step is to double check the soldering job where the safc was tapped in ### the safc gets power without any problems. but the question is what about the ecu.....
