Tach installation

Hi, I just got a tachometer for my 98 Non Turbo eclipse and Im working on installing it. I read the other threads and all the information has been great and taken me in the right direction however I am an idiot when it comes to wiring. Can someone explain to me what and where these "pin sites" are? I pulled the RPM gauge out in my car and found something that looks like 3 plug ins. Everyone is telling my about this white wire to splice into on the pin site but I just want to make sure before I make a mistake. Thanks

you should have 3 wires on the tach. red=12v, black=ground, other=signal.....the signal wire is pin 58... here is a site with the diagram
