upgrade question

ok heres the deal...im running almost bone stock except for a injen intake...now im planning on adding a beschur 2.5 inch downpipe..uses stock cat...currently running stock exhaust as well...will the downpipe add a little performance to my car...with my almost stock setup?...thanks

A little. You'll need to watch for boost creep, though.

Wouldn't you want to buy the cat-back first, seeing as how that would make significantly more of a difference?

Before you do anything else (including the downpipe), buy and install a reliable aftermarket boost/vac gauge, followed by upgrading your BOV to either a 1g, "crushed" 1g, or aftermarket BOV.

oh...forgot to tell you guys..i also have a boost controller and boost gauge already....my question is if i put the aftermarket dp and high flow cat in...will it destroy my stock exhaust...cause im planning on getting the dp and maybe high flow cat for this wednesday...going to the tracks to test my 1/4 mile

I don't believe that would destroy your stock exhaust and couldn't see any reason why it would. It's just your going from a more free-flowing DP, than a high flow cat, and than what? Stock cat-back.The exhaust gases are having to push through the smaller stock cat-back and you really won't "see" any to little differences like MrBoxx said. Kinda like trying to blow a golfball through a straw if you can imagine that.

I made the really handy high flow cat back and resinator, its called a 3" sraight pipe cut to legnth and welded in. I dont have a turbo though... I dont know if that will be bad for boost creep..?

Just get a 3in DP the Megan one has good reviews, trust me youll want to upgrade later, why waste money.
