I have a 7 bolt with J E pistons and eagle rods my first question is will I be able to use those piston and rods in a 6 bolt. If so will I just have to take them to a machine shop to make them fit? What other parts can I reuse on a 7 bolt? I have an aftermarket flywheel and some other aftermarket stuff so I was just wondering what I could reuse off of that 7 bolt block. Thanks

Johnny

The pistons are only bore specific (if your pistons are .020 the 6 bolt block has to be .020). The rods will go onto the 6 bolt crank (rod bearings can be ordered when taken to the machine shop). I don't see any reason to use any other parts off a 7 bolt. Unless you have a 2g 7 bolt in which case I'd use the cylinder head. Judging my your SN saying your have a 95, I'd use the head.

What about the other stuff, ,waterpump, oil pump, and the clutch. The only reason is because most of these parts are brand new with less than a 100 miles on them. Also will I have to make modification to my exhaust for the 6 bolt? Thank 90laserRsfwd for your input bro.

flywheel deff not, your flywheel is for a 7 bolt and has 7 bolt on it to bolt to the 7 bolt crank shaft, a 6 bolt has 6 bolts to bolt to a 6 bolt crankshaft. come on now thats a no brainer.
