Well, just throwing it out there but here are my build plans for this coming year. Let me know what you guys think.

6 bolt block honed and o-ringed
garrett gt35r (anyone selling one in decent condition)
dnp t3 header
pte 1000cc injectors
eagle rods
ross/wiseco pistons .020 over (sending to FFWD to get cryo treated)
FFWD hi-flow fuel system
JMF SMIM
taking head to machine shop to get fully machined
unsure of what company cams to go with but im going 272/272's possibly fp,dks,bc,etc...
probably bc springs/retainers
either fp or dv/dt front mount ic
cop kit
1g tb sent to FFWD for boring and reconditioning

That is the main things I can think of right now. If anyone has any additions or suggestions for things I should remove/add let me know. Also I will be in need of an engine stand if anyone is selling one around the Chicago area or is willing to ship one for a decent price let me know!

go with the dv/dt fab fmic, sooooo big yet they go with the 2g styling so well. no wastegate eh? freewheeling a 35r FTMFW!! i might have an engine stand that you could borrow. also throw in a waterpump and a oil pump (oem of cousre) along with all the timing belt goodies, its up to you wheher or not you wanna run a kevlar belt or oem (either or would be fine) all the pulleys along with a nice new tensioner. are you going to run balance shafts?

Looks like you still need an AFPR, and a recirc kit for the SSQV wouldn't be a bad idea. Other than that, look into getting a wideband and/or MAP sensor to hook up to DSMLink.

Consider going with a .58 or .68 (both undivided) T4 35R instead of the T3 unless you already bought the turbo.

It will flow as well or better than a comprable T3, and with certain ones (unfortunately just the .70 divided special order AFAIK) you can get a V-band outlet option which makes life easier.

Plus, if/when you go bigger you won't have to redo your exhaust setup.

Thanks for the replys. And ya I forgot to add in a few things...
- Tial 44 vband wastegate
- AEM UEGO Wideband
- And ya i will definately be replacing the water pump and oil pump and refresh all the other older parts.
- Kevlar timing belt (and I am pretty sure I will need to replace my current t-belt on my 7 bolt because I'm hearing it squeaking pretty bad and its been a while since it was replaced.)
- I am considering either the Synapse or the Tial bov
- I haven't ordered the 35r yet and I am not too sure of what size housings to go with...I did find it at a pretty good price though of 1250 shipped from MAperformance (I always thought it had to use a T3 header for this turbo?)

And a few other things....the FFWD Hi-flow fuel system comes with an AFPR built onto the fuel rail
rb25-thanks for you being willing to let me borrow your stand, but this is going to be a LONG build seeing as I only have about 1500 spending money as of right now so it will be a slow process of getting money and then buying parts and eventually I will have all the parts here and ready to assemble.
I was also thinking of getting a Fluidampr for my setup possibly...

Oh..and yes I will be removing the balance shaft

well all i can say is make a list right everything down that you think you need then when you have money order some stuff! then mark it off if i could do it all over again build the engine then get the go fast stuff! especially since thats all day bolt on stuff not pull the engine stuff! get the car running then add to it that way you can atleast drive it!

The guys at MAP are by far some of the nicest people I've ever dealt with. Not just in the automotive industry, but in general. The way they treat their customers (even potential ones) says a lot about them as people. With that said, talk to them and I'm more than sure they'd work out a deal with you for a T4 35R if that's what you want.

And no, GT35R's can have a T3 or T4 housing on it.

Well for now I am going to use link - AEM might be further down the road though. And for outkastracing's post - I would do it that way where I slowly add bolt ons to the engine but I currently have a 7 bolt as my DD and since I will be doing the 6 bolt swap, I would rather have everything ready to go at once rather than doing the swap then adding stuff.

well i beleive the FP only has a gt 30r wheel,

to OP: i am considering selling mine which i pusrchased about 5 monaths ago and drove the car only on for 2 motnsh at the most. a full tubular manifold tial 44m wastegate all the goodies pm me if ## still interested.

well just let me know cause i habe one siting right now doing nothing and the motor that im building is on another stand right now.

no problem outkast LOL thanks for the suggestion though. and rb25 ya if you have one just sitting around ill take it off of your hands. But I would rather buy it than borrow it b/c i have a friend who lives just 5 blocks away who I could borrow from too haha.

ha funny thing im borrowing the extra one but the guy i am borrowing from aparently doesn't care that i have it as would i LOL.

Before you buy a turbo, repeat after me: HTA35R!
You might even find a used one, but not likely as they are so new.
If you haven't heard of it, most of the info is on evolutionm.net forums. The introductory thread over there is a David Buscher thread here:
New record for pump gas, set with the HTA35r - evolutionm.net

The best one-pager is at Forced Performance where it is called the FP3582HTA, here:
Forced Performance: FP3582HTA Turbo

It is basically a Garrett GT35R with a new design anti-surge compressor cover and a special light weight billet compressor wheel. It spools up quicker than a GT35R and makes more power through the entire rev range all the way up.

The tricky trick to know about with this turbo is the turbine a/r. It is available in .63 and .82 a/r. Most of the dynos you'll find don't specify what the a/r was, because most of the owners don't even know what they got! I know because I've been pming them. But you'll notice that some of the dynos show only about 120 hp at 4000 rpm, while others show 180 to 200 hp at 4000 rpm. That I believe would be the .82 a/r and .63 a/r in that order. I would definitely get the .63 myself, for the quicker spool. But most of the Evo guys are in such a swoon over this turbo they'll take whatever Buscher sells them.
Turbine is T3 with either a 4 bolt or 5 bolt outlet.
By the way, 200 awhp at 4000 rpm on a 2 liter on pump gas, that's spooling like a 50 trim!
And 500+ awhp on the top end on 93 octane no meth - get outa my way Enzo!

Well, it is mostly Garrett. The bearings and the entire hotside is pure Garrett GT35R. But the Compressor is Forced Performance / Buscher Racing proprietary stuff. I think Tial has something to do with it too.
I don't think Garrett will try too hard to "compete" anytime soon. Their business is mostly big rig trucks really, and marine, farming, and construction machinery. Not so much us car guys. The whole disco-potato story is how some of the Garrett engineers keep that car around to show the bosses how much fun it is, so they don't completely forget about us. Well it isn't quite that bad, they do get involved with some of the race teams.

Hey if you come up with a good deal on a used GT3582R, I think FP offers an upgrade to HTA specs rebuild for only about $450, which you could do later when you have the money. Yeah, it's here again: Forced Performance: FP3582HTA Turbo
Some guys who have HTA35R's now will be switching to HTA37R's as soon as they become available (pretty soon) which should put a few 35's on the used market.

Sounds like a good, expensive setup LOL. I hope to be doing an 08 rebuild, my self. Whats all this stuff I hear about removing balance shafts? Any one done it? Feed back on if its worth doing with a rebuild, proceedures, pros v.s. cons?
