ok so I was about to spend the chunk of cash on the link till it started asking me questions like injector size and rpm limits and all of that I thought this is all stuff that can be moved around on there and adjusted or is that just for a base tune and if I do a 6 bolt swap will it still work just a few things a guy need to know before he spends that kind of dough you know

im sure im:beatentodeath:with this subject but if anyone could help me out I know someone on here can

It doesn't matter what "base" tune you get with DSMLINK, you can change any settings. 6-bolt versus 7-bolt doesn't matter either. DSMLINK has the features needed in case you need to alter your CAS.

What they are asking you is what you want your default setup to be. Lets say you have 1000cc injectors. They will set it up for that. Once you get it in the mail you put it your car , it'll be set for 1000cc injectors without modifcations on your behalf. If you get 1600cc injectors later on, then you can change the settings for it on dsmlink. But, lets say your battery dies and resets, then your car will go back to default settings of 1000cc and w/e else they may be when you ordered it. Default settings can be changed, but you have to ship your ecu back to Dsmlink.

Actually, you don't have to ship your ECU back. You just have to tell them what you want changed and they'll flash you a new chip, and you just have to pull your old one out of your socketed ecu and put your new one in. I think it cost like $30 or something like that for a new chip, don't quote me on that.

As already stated, you can change the settings after you get it if you want/need to.

They ask you those questions so that when you hook everything up you can actually drive the without having to adjust anything to take it for a test and tune. It's just a base map. You can do whatever you want from there on.
