I was thinking of what to do with my engine rebuild and I am wondering is it a good idea to deck the block ground zero or just flat? Is it a good idea with a big turbo forged pistons and forged rods? Is it a good idea with stock 1g pistons and rods and a big 16g?

Don't bump your posts.

Take the block to a machine shop to see what needs to be done. Raising compression in a turbocharged car isn't exactly what you want to do.

Your turbo and internal choices are decided by your goals and purpose of your car. State them, and we may be able to help you out.

I want my car to be fast. And also durable as I can make it. The motor i am building soon will be fully balanced with arp head studs main studs a cosmetic head gasket. I have not took my things to the machine shop because I was on edge of going with forged internals. But I do not think I will need them. I also I have a big 16g and the dsmlink. I want to get a gm maf and wideband o2 to tune the motor. also I am going to go with an act 2600 or 2900.

I think those are the goals of everyone from me to John Shepherd. You'll have to be a little more specific, as there is a lot of room in there.

What magical horsepower number are you looking to hit? What timeslip numbers do you want to see? Is your car going to be a strip-only car? Fast weekend car? Autocross? Road-race? Rallycross? Fun daily driver? What do you already have done that you're going to transfer over to the new setup? What supporting mods do you have?

Im looking for a fun daily driver and possibly a 1 or 2 times a year track car. I want to make at least 350 hp. I have a holset diesel truck turbo that I am not sure if I will put it on or not. I will put that on if I want to make 500 hp. I have yellow top injectors and a 16g right now.

It sounds to me like you need to figure out what you want. Like MrBoxx said, take it to a machine shop and see what needs to be done. Then figure out if you want a 350 hp daily driver, or if you want to devote the time and effort and money into making the diesel turbo work towards reaching your 500hp goals. If I were you I would choose the 350hp daily driver approach. I think you'll have alot more fun and save yourself alot of headaches. Thats just my opinion, so take it how you will.
