hello i have a mbc and im trying to install it now and its stumped me.......

i have a tee and a adjuster.

the tee is hooked up to the waste gate and the j pipe and the hose comming off it it goes where?
the adjuster has to lines. one to go to waste gate and one to go idk.

Because it has a "T" and an "adjuster" this tells me it's a bleeder. You have to hook it up differently (almost exactly like the stock BCS).

Does it say "High Performance" on the side and have two nipples coming out of the side of the body and a knob on the end of the body? If so, it's a bleeder.

Can you post a picture of the pieces?

And you need an aftermarket boost gauge like others have said. $50 for an Autometer boost gauge and an a-pillar gauge pod.

I saw your post, too, gofast4life.

You need four sections of hose, a T fitting and the boost controller (bleeder style)...
Hose #1 goes from the compressor outlet or j-pipe nipple to the T-fitting.
Hose #2 goes from the T-fitting to the WGA nipple.
Hose #3 goes from the T-fitting to the MBC nipple (not sure which one, try both ways)
Hose #4 goes from the other MBC nipple to the intake pipe where the BCS bleeder line used to connect.

If you turn the knob on the MBC and can blow *more* air through it, that's the direction you turn it to increase boost. The other way...yep you guessed it...decreases boost.

That is *exactly* how the stock BCS is connected, because...you guessed it...the stock BCS is a bleeder style boost controller. However, it's snazzier because it has an internal solenoid which closes off all air (which drops boost to 9psi or so) if it thinks the engine is acting up.

So if you have the BCS still installed, you know what the new MBC install should look like.

Like I said earlier, there are two nipples on the MBC, and I don't know which goes to the T vs. the intake pipe, and either may work exactly the same. But it's not too hard to try both ways. Just remember that the more leak you get through the MBC, the higher your boost will go. Less leak is less boost.

So if you have the BCS still installed, you know what the new MBC install should look like.

sorry, i read it a few more times to get the terminology...yes my BCS is still installed, so could i just use the same lines and switch in the new hardware, or just use it as a guide to replace the BCS?

Either way. The BCS has a nice bracket so that it's bolted to the frame. Yours will have to be held in place somehow. And take a small section of hose and connect one end to one nipple of the BCS and the other end to the other nipple of the BCS to keep dirt out of it (in case you want to go back to stock for some reason). Leave the BCS electrical plug connected or you may throw a code.

Then the two vaccuum lines you took off the BCS connect to the new MBC. I leave it to you if you want to change out the vaccuum lines and relocate stuff. Just keep the vaccuum plumbing "schematic" like the stock BCS (things connected to the right other things).

Keep it out of the radiator fan, away from the scorching hot exhaust manifold and turbine housing, etc. And you probably want it somewhere you can reach so that you can adjust it.

Start with boost all the way down, work your way up until you hit the boost level you know you can safely run (because you have a logger, right?). Don't blow up the motor or trash the turbo by turning the boost up higher than your current setup can support. That would be bad.:thumb:

i already have an over boosting problem (previous owner was an IDIOT!), and was told buy my fellow tunners on here that a MBC would help fix my issue...

No, i do not have a logger at the moment, i have my plans for my car and its in there, im just short on cash at the moment since my place of work had to close down...

thankx for all the info.
ill tackle this project asap.
