newb here, got a cool idea.

im a newb to dsm's. ive always had mustangs, and currently have a ls1 trans am. i recently purchased a 1990 gst and a 92 gsx. both 5 spd. what im wanting to do is make them both look identical.....as identical as it gets. same wheels, same paint scheme, tint, everything. i want to dd the gst and hide the gsx for some weekend racing. make people think i only have 1 car. im having trouble trying to find a paint scheme for them. the gst is white with black on top. i love white. i cant decide if i want to go all white car, or just get it repainted to the factory 2tone look, and then have the gsx painted the same way. any input here guys? both cars have the same exhaust, and both have the same wheels, same lowering springs, and same tint already, just need same paint. i want to leave the gst stock and keep it reliable and halfway slow. but not the gsx. any input is appreciated!

just build the gsx, have the gst as a dd and then take out the gsx whenever she is running.... I personally wouldnt do the hide a car but thats your call. Also, do the 2 tone all the way!!!

well the gsx is an ugly color, kinda goldish silverish...i guess u can call it pewter i dunno...i hate it. im gonna repaint the gst anyways, but i really like the idea of painting them both the same color and just not drive the gsx unless im racing it or something, make it a little runner. the gst will be the dd whatever happens and the gsx will be the weekender, just they both need paint.

well that works... and I like them both white what I was saying dont do is claim the gst as the gsx... its cooler if you have 2 anyways

Eh, could be cool, but how many people see you daily that you'd race on the weekends? Also, the mods will surely make the two cars sound different real quick, dead give away. Most weekend race tracks require you to have the cars registered and insured. You'd have two different license plates, also another dead give away. Sry but the trick won't last long.

Not many people outside the DSM world realize there's more than one model. Save your effort.

It's a DSM and it going to need parts. Fix the AWD and keep the FWD for parts.

Exactly what I was thinking. Its a dead giveaway.

If you have enough money to keep 2 DSMs running in tip top shape (keeping 1 of them a track beast), I wanna know what you do for a living.

i think eventually people WOULD find out, but the people around here dont know the difference. it would take them a while. they wouldnt even recognize the headlight difference. i just thought it would be cool to have them identical looking....we'll see how it goes i guess. ive done this with fourwheelers before and it was a blast trail riding my banshee and then when my friends wanted to race i'd put money down and bring an identical looking bike out....but it was a 10mil stroker hahaha. just makes me laugh inside!

There's a guy down the street from me with Two white 1g Talon's - both clean too. I think it's a good idea, as long as you take care of the gst, it should be a good dd, and your Gsx can be your beast. It's good to see a guy with a Trans Am that can still appreciate a DSM... That seems to be pretty rare around here.
