I got an intercooler from the junkyard a little ago well I just looked at it and took the mount bolts out and i can see into the intercooler from the mount holes part. is this suppose to be like this? should i use some rtv....or jbweld or some kind of loctite when i put them back on?

no you should not be able to see into the intercooler through the mounting holes. the only proper way to fix the hole would be to have them welded shot jb weld might hold but would not last. rtv would blow right out. save your self the hassle of tearing it off again and just have it welded

the intercooler is supposed to have only two holes 1) hot air in 2) cold air out. the mounting holes are gona create a boost leak. take it to a professional that knows how to weld aluminum because it can get a little tricky if you don't know what you doing.

That is is hard to determine what it looks like, can you take a picture in the light, same angle.

Thanks,

c4

No, JB Weld and RTV will not suffice when it comes to holding boost pressure. You need to properly seal those holes or you will most certainly have a boost leak. Take it a machine shop or some place that has a TIG welder. All you need are some spot welds to plug the holes. Its a quick and easy fix and shouldn't cost much at all. Heck, I'd offer my services for free if we lived closer together.

LOL Jb Weld the intercooler pipe. That would be a classic dsm move. Yea i have the jb welded front mount, its good til i start running crazy amounts of boost, like 2 or 3 psi.
