2G Temp Sensor....

When wiring an aftermarket temp gauge, do i leave the stock one hooked up to satisfy the ECU?? my temp gauge is eff'in up!! fans are on, no signs of overheating, but the stock gauge says i am... Im gonna run an aftermarket gauge and hope all is well.

You need to leave the temp sensor for the ECU hooked up (should be a plastic connector with two wires, if I'm not mistaken). You can remove the one for the gauge, which is typically just a single quick disconnect metal connector.

is it the single wire that's hooked to the T-stat??

Yep, that should be it. The sensor should look like this:

Make sure it really is your stock gauge and not the gauge sender that's bad (senders go out far more often). With key on and sender disconnected, gauge should read minimum. With key on and sender harness wire grounded, gauge should read maximum. If this is ok your sender is bad (it probably reads very low resistance all the time).
