Did I do the fuel filter catch can mod correct?

Pictures are attached! Since my phone camera sucks, the arrows on the G2 Fram fuel filter are pointing toward my 1g bov and I didn't really need clamps because its on pretty tight like a kitty.

Yes, just make sure the arrow is pointing towards the intake.

Your catch can will get clogged like this!

You need to put the catch can closer to the valve cover, so that it is basically parallel to the ground. If you don't, the oil from the excessive blow-by will clog the filter and possibly clog up completely so it creates a big restriction, resulting in the excess pressure in the crankcase not being relieved like it should.

Look through this photo to see what I mean.

Yea, you need to listen to him. not only because he has more rep points than me, but that happened to me with my first filter.

I set mine up so that the VC breather end of the filter was pointing at the ground. That way, the oil settles on the VC breather end and gets sucked out when the IM sees vaccuum. Keeps oil from piling up in the filter. YMMV.

hmmm, makes sense..time to ditch the flimsy stock hose and use the thick hefty and stiff hose it comes with.

Will this mod help with oil blow-by?

It helps capture the oil coming from your vc in that little filter so your intake dosent get filled with oil.

Yeah, it got a little off topic there. Not to mention I recant on my statement. Leave the bloody filter in.

Kinda late to bring this back though. I steer people all the time. No need to pop one over it.

I don't get the point in this. If you don't want to get oil in your intake why don't you just get a catch can or just run the hose to the ground?
