Good morning all. I have an Eclipse GSX for almost a year now and i am the 3rd owner of this car. The last owner thought that a 4G63 swap would be a good idea. I guess he didn't relize how much work was needed to run the vacuum lines though. Does anyone have a reliable diagram or detailed instruction on how to properly run those lines with the engine swap? Is There a engine swap bible somewhere? Would it be easier and cheap to take it to a shop to figure out the mess? One other question is that the intake manifold is a cyclone and has no place to put the manifold differential pressure sensor which is sending the P1400 mdp sensor circuit malfunction code to the ECU. How do I resolve this issue so I don't have to disconnect the battery everytime I go for emissions? After about 2200 rpms the engine starts vibrating and loses power I thought the P1400 code is the problem . I have to clutch in and let it drop below 2200 rpms for it to stop :barf:. The only problem I am clearly aware of with the car is an exhaust leak not sure if that is causing the problem. I have read and researched for months on this website on these issues so moderators please do not be too angry. I hope I was descriptive enough, any help would be ver appreciated. Thanks.

Well I'm definatley guessing its A 6bolt swap because the GSX already has a 4g63. For you map sensor problem all you have to do is run a vacuum line to it and make sure its on there secure so it won't fall off that what I did.

The "vibrating" hes seeing is proibably the random cylinder misfire code that it throws with the swap. All you have to do for that is wire in a 10k potentiometer into the barometric sensor wire and turn up the resistance a bit. The baro wire is on the top plug of the ecu, pin 85...orange wire with white stripe.

Joe your are freakin' awesome. Thanks how much for the 10k potentiometer. Yes it was a 6 bolt swap sorry about that. The leak is right after the headers. Its not the MAP sensor but the MDP (Manifold Differential Pressure) Sensor.

Its like 3 bucks from radio shack, just go over to the bins of resistors and shit that they have and there will be one for potentiometers, any 10k one will work, they have a few different sizes. When you solder it up, cut the wire and put one end of the wire to the center peg on the potentiometer, and the other end to either of the two other ones, it doesnt matter which one. Make sure its completely turned counter clockwise, then turn it up a bit at a time until it stops throwing the mis fire code...it doesnt take much.

OK I got the ecu out but there isn't a orange wire with a white stripe. The guy i bought the car from said he put in a new ecu but didn't specify which one.....
