A while back, i did an engine harness swap, and the car has been working ever since. My logger recently died, and im unable to pull codes and such. But the problem here, is that my knock sensor is disconnected, and i don't get any cel. I'm not driving the car currently, but when i did, it pulled strong, So i believe not even the regular 9 counts of knock that the computer detects if there's no knock sensor, was affecting me. Is there any reason, of why my car isn't showing a cel for the knock sensor? it should, because my light comes on after starting the car, but then it goes off and it never comes back again like it should. Thanks for the help. :thumb:

The main point here, is not a knock sensor disconnected. I know i should not drive with a knock sensor unplugged, but mine doesn't work, so i unhooked it. Im not driving the car currently, but i just today, disconnected the o2 sensor, and the car didn't come up with any CEL. I know, the CEL light itself works, because it comes on and goes off when i start the car. Any ideas?

Figure out what DTC you're really getting O2 or KS. If your O2 is "bad" meaning out of range, clean it with rubbing alcohol. If you disconnect your O2 sensor, your ECU just goes into open loop.

Oh and get a new knock sensor- they're only like $70.00

I can't believe this is hard to understand. Maybe i'm not explaining you guys very well then. Basically, i disconnect any sensor on the car and the CEL light doesn't come on like it should.

update: i found that by disconnecting the SAFC, my cel light came on for some weird reason. I was unable to check the codes, since i have no logger as i said. Could it be a bad connection to the ECU?

if you disconnect your S-AFC it is like disconnecting you MAS since that is the wire you cut when you splice it in. hook your AFC back up, then unplug you MAS while it's running. that should give you a code instantly if it doesn't there is something wrong for sure.
sometimes the 02 sensor CEL wont come on until you drive the car like 50 miles.
