Clutch problem

sometimes when i race my car the RPMs go up to 6-7k.
i launch at 4.5k and when i take off the RPMs go straight to 6-7k and the car doesnt pick up speed and it burns my clutch. even when i shift it still does the same.(usualy worse when i shift quick)...the clutch isnt that old. i had it put on around march or april of this year.
whats causing this?
should a get a better aftermarket clutch?

Launching an AWD vehicle is strenuous for the clutch. It seems to me that you burned up your clutch already. What clutch (brand/type) did you replace your last one with, and did you resurface the flywheel when you did this? Follow proper break-in procedure? Many cheap AutoZone/Advance clutches are known to be sub-par, and usually don't last very long.

Is your pedal adjusted properly? A clutch that doesn't fully disengage will wear quickly, and a clutch that doesn't engage with full force will not have adequate clamping power and slip easily.

thanks for the help...but i also heard that if i upgrade the clutch that it would mess something up if my car was pretty much stock. is this true?

Nope.

A slipping clutch will first show signs under hard acceleration, usually in higher gears, and progressively get worse until it affects even normal driving. Once it starts slipping, it will get worse VERY quickly. Also, most street clutches will slip more when they are hot(ie launching/hard driving) and return to "normal" once they are allowed to cool.

A lot of people say if you're mostly stock to go with a 2100. In my own opinion mind you, I would go with a 2600 with a street disc. You should be able to run 11's on that settup without a problem as long as you change your disc once a year.
 
The full face disc IMO especially for a DD car. Hell, a stock car doesn't even need a 2600, 2100 or an Exedy stage 1 is more suitable. Do you have any plans down the road for more power? You may want to look at more options than just going out and buying the first thing someone suggests(no offense).

Also, it is recommended that you get an OEM throw out bearing instead of using the ACT one(or any other brand really).
 
non taken. but yes i do plan on doing a good amount of mods in the near future. i have a t3/t4 that i plan on installing after i do all the supporting mods. so i just want to get a clutch that will work well with the way my car is now and hold up untill i have to get a better 1(if i have to) if it helps at all, my goal is to reach 450-500awhp
