Dash light turned on, dont know what it means..

Ok guys i was driving then all of a sudden a yellow dash light turned on. I dont know what it means its a picture of something, it looks like the building on the back side of a penny . oh and i havent changed anything on my car or done anything and seems to be running the same just that light is on, ive been lookin for my Haynes but i cant find it, thanx.

That would be the coolant/radiator light (kind of looks like a radiator, doesn't it?). It means your coolant level in the overflow reservoir bottle is low (or if the level is ok, your sensor might be bad).

aahh.. duh that makes sense, i didnt know i had a sensor for my coolant bottle thanx. Im gonna go check it right now, its kind of dumb theres a sensor for the coolant bottle but not for the tranny or the t case to see if theyre low..

Wow they could of just put a light that said low coolant but no that would be too simple instead they had to put the lincoln memorial on there..

I've seen this thread come up a couple times, and I always chuckle because of peoples imagination. On a past thread someone thought that something was wrong at there house.

Seriously though, it just means that your coolant overflow bottle is low/empty. There's a sensor switch on the bottom of the bottle on 1Gs. Refill it and if the light doesn't turn off, check to make sure that the wire is still attached... they can work their way off over the years. If it's attached and the bottle is full, but the light is still on, you may have to take the bottle out and clean it out... 'gunk' can deposit at the bottom of the bottle over the years, and the switch can get stuck.

Go to eBay, buy an Owner's Manual. Any DSM will do, it doesn't have to be from the same year, just the same generation.
