Car is having major issues..

Sorry I didn't really search. I had no idea what to even search for and I'm wanting to go to bed. I just got my car home and it's having so many problems I don't know where to begin. I'm going to the junkyard in the morning so I'm hoping to have a few replies by then.

The car still smokes like crazy after a HG replacement. Compression is 170-170-175-170. Pretty sure the turbo seal is blown.

Dipstick is popping out and spitting oil everywhere. *Searched, going to just grab a new stick and pinch the seal if it proceeds to happen again*

Now what's really puzzling me.. and I haven't tested the battery yet, Auto stores are way beyond closed at this hour. I went to pick up a lady friend and was driving down the road. Everything started to get real dim. Lights went real dim, radio quit working, all that fun stuff. So I pulled into a gas station, put $10 to get me around and got back in. Wouldn't start or even turn over. Lights were still real dim.

So I called my buddy up and we jumped it. Car started but then died again whenever I gave it gas. My friend said that oil was spitting out the tailpipe. So we got in my buddy's car and just took the girl home that I had just picked up and was about to bring over to my place.. damnit. Anyways, jumped the car again and when I tried to drive off, it just died. Jumped it again and let it charge a little bit, started to die again so I turned the headlights off and made it to a different parking lot.

Said #### it and just decided to drive it home and follow my friend. On the way home, I had the lights off so it wouldn't die, but the car kept like wanting to die but fully wouldn't. It would make a click noise, all the lights on the dash would flicker, then it'd kind of backfire. Whenever I tried to accelerate or boost, it'd backfire and pop. Few times it even shot a flame out. Finally got it home and it stayed idling around 2200rpms but surged and kept flickering the dash lights and backfiring.

I'm really just fed up with this car. It's my DD and I work on it more then I drive it it seems.. I just want to get everything worked out and in good working order. Any suggestions to anything?

If it's my alternator or something, CAN I use a 1G alternator? I find lots of 1gs at the junkyards but not so many 2gs.
 
You definitely have two different problems here.

The only thing I can advise is to test your battery and alternator. They are almost definitely shot.

The other problem is obviously the sputtering/oil spitting out of your exhaust, and there's not much I can tell you about this..but good luck! :thumb:
 
yeah have your alt checked. Mine also did that when i was on the way to a meet, and if i'm not wrong the oil maybe be from a blown turbo. oil maybe just leaking through the seal and down the exhaust pipe.
