Ok Ive been searching all over the place and cant find an answer. There are suggestions of what it might be but no guarantees. Ok my tsi has a problem when cold it idles fine but 7 min. later the idle is at 2k rpms, and it aint a spike to 2k rpms its gradually and if i leave it off itll go back down. What can this be? Anyone have had this problem, im tight on money so i need a dead answer. thanks:talon:

The usual response is the IAC motor, but it might be the tension on the throttle cable. Mine must be set after it's driven around for a little while. As the engine bay heats up, the rubber expands and tightens the cable.
The first time I tightened the throttle cable, I did it on a cold day. Then I realized that after the whole bay heats up, it tightened more and it would stay around 2k.

Also, check for boost leaks. It could be that after heating up, holes that otherwise would be closed while contracted, open further after heating. There are actually far too many things that it could be to give you a definite answer. You'll just have to trouble shoot and check things one at a time.

I'm guessing it's one of 3 things. IAC like previously stated, eng coolant temp sensor, or the least likely sticky tps. Give your IAC a clean, also if your running slightly rich thats a good hint that you should be looking at your coolent temp sensor.

Check you IAC it happened to me before and i had to change it , do not try to play with it as you will never get it right you will only make it worse ( there is a screw in the intake where you can adjust it but do not play with it and get a professional to do it or just change you IAC)

good luck

The BISS isn't hard to set/fix, so long as you ground the proper connectors before you start messing with it. Though if that was off, you'd idle high all the time, and surge like crazy. Still worth checking, as it takes all of ten seconds.
As for the ISC (idle stepping controller), you can simply unplug it and check the coils with a multimeter. Better yet, take off the throttle body assembly and give it a good cleaning (check VFAQ) and test the ISC at the same time. One upper intercooler pipe, four bolts, a few vac lines, and a couple water lines if you haven't deleted them yet. Hell, don't even need to take off the vac/water lines if you clean it in place, and just stuff some towels into the intake manifold. Still have to take out those bolts though.
