I have one and it serves it's purpose just fine.

The EBC can be difficult to tune at first, however, after tinkering enough it is pretty easy to figure out.

Also, the "Hi" and "Lo" boost settings come in handy.

I do have a question though. What makes you want to buy another boost controller? Is your current one leaking or not functioning correctly?

Well, the justification that I had in getting one was that I caught a new one on ebay for $95 shipped, (must have been listed wrong or something) and I wanted a boost controller with 2 settings.

To me, $200 seems a bit steep, but if it is what you want then go for it. Just make sure that the package includes the head unit, solenoid, and the filter that installs in the vacuum line. Also, don't use the vacuum line that comes with the kit, usually it is really cheaply crafted line.

I would give it a rating of 8.
With the downside being the learning curve on how to tune it.

The controller isn't set up to turn a knob to get more boost. You have the following setting to tune: Set , Gain, Start Boost, Warning, and Limiter.

Also, some of the settings are based on PSI whereas others are based on a percentage. It takes a lot of trial and error to get the unit set up properly.

On a brighter note, I really like the products design and it's limiter function.

Here is a guide on how to set up the unit so that you can see what is needed to do so.

Depends on how much boost you're running. It's not to stable with mid and high 20s.

I've been using this EBC on one of my GSXs for a long while. As stated, if INSTALLED PROPERLY, and ASSUMING YOUR TURBO/WASTEGATE SETUP is also PROPERLY SETUP, it will do its job.

It has nice features, being hi and low setting. Also over boost protection, I believe it also reads as a boost gauge and records peak/hold boost. Tuning it the first time is a bit overwelming if its your first time using it.

Don't rush it, take your time to learn it, so after that its a breeze every other time, just in case it resets. It has held boost for me very accurately, no spike or creep on my 50 trim setup, internally gated.

I own the Profec B-spec, I couldn't share anything about the extra features the second version has but I can tell you I love my dual solenoid boost controller! I got mine new for $250 back when they first came out. Mine does have the knobs, one for the balance, and one for each solenoid. The boost stays exactly where I set it, and I love the fact that I can have a pre-determined 2nd setting with the press of a button rather than guess and turn the knob up some. If I could get the B-spec 2 for no more than $150, I might sell mine to get the upgrade!

I have heard from many that that boost controller is indeed very hard to setup. One reason being the percentages and such. I feel that many of the newer boost controller may be great for tuning your boost but are a bit to complicated for what most will use them for, to set the boost and go. I have the HKS EVC-4 and am very happy with it. I had it in my 89 MX-6 GT 4WS for 2 years and I have now put it in my DSM.

actually I have this ebc because it came with the car when I purchased it. Over all it's a nice piece! for me it was easy to learn how to set it up and the fact the it serves as a boost gauge is great because it is much more accurate than the stock gauge. also the high low settings are sweet. Really the only settings I play with are the set and the gain. I have my set at 35% and my gain at like 25. if the gain is too close to your set you will get boost spike but too low and your spool up isn't as good as it should be. what I do is try to go for a specific boost say 15 psi then keep adjusting for best boost response without spiking. after a couple of times it should only take to you a few pulls to get it correct.

You know, i have the profec b and wanted to go to the spec 2. Some people say it's too technical and is just a pain. Anyone here make the jump?
