Windsor,
Hello, I have been browsing the site/forums for a few days now and haven't seen anyone with a similar problem so Im gunna ask.

I purchased a 94 ES so I could do a full swap with my tsi (tsi's body is horrible), before realizing that I couldn't use the rear drive and transmission. So, Im suck with just swaping motors. But the problem is, is that the Transmission in the ES has a problem, It acelerates perfectly fine, but the second you let off the gas it seems like the transmission won't down shift and it like chugs or pulls and lets off then pulls and lets off. My friend said its the 3cc converter, but I couldn't find anything in my haynes or on the net about that, but I did find something about a kick down servo. Is this my problem and how do I fix it?

Is it an automatic transmission?
When you let off the gas it shouldnt downshift immediately.
Try changing the tranny fluid with some syncroshift.

Ok cool. Thanks for the info. I will be doing the swap next weekend, because Im working this weekend so I'll change out the fluid then. Is there a possiblity that its something else causing the problem?
