We just installed a MAFT version 2.x and a 3" GM MAF in the upper IC piping on my brothers 2g eclipse and didnt hook up the rpm wire just left the rpm mode off and left all the knobs at 0 except the base and aux are where they need to be for the stock injector size. there are no other mods aside from 3" turbo back and a filter. when at WOT when we hit higher rpm it starts cutting in and out. should we have hooked up the rpm wire or do we need to tune the other knobs? from what i read we shouldnt have to but i cant figure out what the problem is.

Not to ruin it for you or talk bad about the MAFT but sometimes there hit or miss, escpecially with the LT1 air meter. Check over your wiring and conect the RPM and get back to us. Make sure your air meter is flowing the correct direction as well.

ok so we hooked the rpm wire up still cuts out, it almost feels like a hard fuel cut like the computer is getting extreme detonation and cutting fuel for a second because if you hold the throttle it cuts out repeatedly. i tried enriching the base line on the maft by selecting the smallest injector size but that just made it bog in the mid rpm range and still didnt help. also one of the times it cut out we got a CEL and it wont go away. im taking it into my work tom to use our code reader to find out what it is. also we hooked back up the stock maf and it runs good again so im at a loss, oh and the CEL stayed on with the stock MAF back on
