Ya someone broke into my car but didn't take crap. Anyway ,my drivers window is COMPLETELY shattered to bits. I got a new window from a local junkyard but how do I place it back in?

I'm in the process of taking the door apart. How do I do it? I see a LOT of bolts and not sure how this thing comes apart..

I'm guessing you have a 2g??

Anyway, take the door skin off first. I'm not 100% if it's the exact same on an eclipse, but for a talon, there are two screws on the right side and two screws on the left side. They may have plastic caps over them. Then there is a screw by the door handle, and another screw inside the little cup piece below that. Once those are off, the rest should be plastic clips. Once you get those off, make sure to unplug the window/door controls from the wiring harness.

Once the skin is off, remove the window/door control piece from the door skin and plug it back into the harness so you can move the window. Move it down until you can see the two bolts that hold it onto the activator. You may have to remove the plastic that's glued on to the rest of the door to gain access to the bolts. You should see them as you move the window down.

Make sure to vacuum out any glass pieces that you can. With the window actuator in the down position, slide the new glass in from the top. You may have to take out the window molding and re-install after or just use some soap and water on the molding. Be careful not to break the class. It's a good idea to have someone help you with this one. Once the glass is in, get the bolts lined up and screw on the nuts. Make sure they are tight, but don't over tighten as you will break off the studs. Once it's on, move the window up and down all the way to make sure it's on the tracks. Then re-assemble the door just as you took it off.

Hope that helped. Good luck.

It helped, I just took my mirror off and see that there's more room to slide the glass in.

What I was wondering is that my new glass has 2 white plastic pieces with the bolts and one on the far end with a track.

How do I squeeze those in? DO I take them off and put them back in once glass in slid back in?

I'm not sure if they come off or not, but if they do I would imagine you should take them off and put them back on once the glass is in the door. Maybe you can post up some pictures so I can get a better idea. I've never actually replaced the glass on a 2g, but I've done it a hundred times on other various cars. Usually the bolts thread into pieces attached to the glass.

You can leave the plastic clips on. Before you go putting the window in, make sure those clips are aligned correctly. Remove the upper trim piece on the inside of the door (Piece against the window), and remove the adjuster brackets (2, each is attached with 2 bolts and covered in felt). With those removed you have quite a bit of space to work with. Have someone available to help, this glass is awkward to install.

If you do remove the plastic clips, make sure not to over tighten them or you'll be getting another piece of glass.
