Has it been done? (Intercooler question)

Well I'm baking the headlights to clean them up, clear the corners and paint them. So I figured, might as well get the front mount I picked up mounted up right then I can do the piping later.

Just looking around (Pretty clueless right now, I need to go find some brackets and shit) I've been thinking about taking the AC condenser out and putting it behind the bar in the middle. I'm afraid this would be awfully close to my radiator though. The intercooler isn't too terribly big or anything though.

My AC isn't working but the belt is still on it and the lines are still ran. It would be nice to have, so I'm not sure if I'm going to junk it without trying to do a recharge yet.

If it's been discussed before then my apologies. Just an idea that popped up into my head.

Also, while I'm in here, what is the little curly bar thingy for thats in the front? I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the AC.

Which bar are you talking about, -the vertical support in front of the radiator? As for brackets; I used a long thin piece of aluminum strap from Lowe's, measured and bent it in a vise for the right shape.

I would advise against moving the condenser in front of the radiator, if that's really what you're thinking -the FMIC will already have handicapped your cooling system.

If it isn't working right now, I'd at least try to put the condeser somewhere that it won't interfere with the radiator or FMIC, but most likely I'd yank it all out. The windows still work.

The "curly bar thingy" is your power steering cooling loop. If you are careful you can bend it out of the way without busting it. When I did my FMIC I broke the weld off of the bottom of the center radiator/bumper support where it connects to the frame(green circle below), unscrewed the bolt and then coaxed the power steering loop in behind the brace. Then I locktited and torqued the shit out of the bolt when I put it back in.
