o2 issues??? help

ok so iv been working on the rear o2 sensor bypass hardware and when i unplugged the sensor and started the car to see the light come on...it didnt.. i removed my cat a while back and the light never came on but i figured it was a bad sensor. but now it wont come on with the o2 not even installed. is this bad , is the light supposed to come on when the o2 sensor isn't installed????? hope its something stupid.

It doesnt always come on automatically when you unplug the sensor. If you go for a drive cycle with it unplugged, it should come on. You can try it if you wish, just to make sure the light does function...

Mitsubishi programmed a set of parameters that must be met before a CEL is thrown for o2 sensors. Don't worry about it, the rear o2 sensor does nothing performance wise weather a code is thrown or not. If the CEL bugs you, do the bypass mod or get DSMLink. If it doesn't bug you, then leave it.

If the light hasn't come on after a few weeks of driving, you might want to make sure your CEL light hasn't burned out on the cluster...or you just have one of the freak cars that doesn't care about the rear o2 sensor.

Uhh, you're CEL is there for a reason, why would you choose to be lazy and ignore it? It might end up costing you more than a few extra bucks for gas.....

so there are some eclipses that for some reason just dont care about that rear o2 ### that sounds wierd. and sry to change the topic real quick but im thinking of buying tein type flew shocks.... good buy?????

The rear o2 CEL is to check the functionality of your catalytic converter. If your rear o2 sensor itself is jacked up or not working properly, you might never see a CEL running cat-less.
