I'm taking off a 2" intake pipe and replacing it with a 3" pipe. Will this have any effect on the cars performance? Will I need to do something with the maf? Some sort of management program, or can I just put it on without adjusting anything? I'm replacing because I don't want to vent to the atmosphere anymore.

3" pipe will allow your car to breathe a little better... I'm not sure if you'll have gains, it's hard to tell really. I can tell you that there will be less intake restriction so at worse it'll sound better and you won't loose any performance. For the MAF, you'll need the proper coupler from 3" to your MAF. Whomever you purchased the intake from should have a coupler availible for their intake. Good luck.

maybe more info is needed. I have a 16g with a 2g dejon tool intake on right now. I'm venting to the atmosphere right now, and i want to put a different pipe on to recirculate. I have another dejon pipe sitting in the garage off of a 1g with recirculation tube. It's all hacked and cut to 3" for the inlet. I guess what I'm asking is, if I put this pipe on, will it throw the air/fuel way out of wack? I don't have dsmlink or any management on the car yet. I realize I need the reducer from 3" to 2.5" to fit the 16g.

by venting to the atmosphere...i hope you have been at least doing it the right way..

if not, what you're putting on will feel like a big difference, just because of the recirculation factor.

The difference will probably be minimal being you already had an aftermarket intake, but no you'll be fine with the new pipe. If there is an increase in airflow the MAF will read this & inturn tell your ecu what to do.

I just got the motor put in. I had a intake pipe sitting around but it didn't have the recirculation tube, I had to use it to start the motor. I'm trying to get some cash together to do a blow through setup. Hopefully I get the cash soon, obviously the car runs pretty rich. I asked this in the newbie section because its sort of a lame question. Thanks for the advice.
