I have been back and forth about a rebuild. I think i finally am going to go through with it. I want to do a nice stroke kit and do a 6 bolt swap on my 97 GST.

I dont know where to start looking. Has anyone had their engines rebuilt in MA. Where are some good places to go that will do a good shop at an affordable price. What price range am i looking at in general for a stroker rebuild.

It all depends.

  • What's your budget?
  • Is there a time frame?
  • Will you be purchasing a kit or piecing something together in coordination with the shop?
  • Are you just looking for the shop to install the parts?
  • What (else) are you expecting the shop to do?

There are other questions I'm probably missing, but you get the idea. I would recommend DSG or ESP. There are certainly others out there, but those have come highly recommended time and time again for us Massachusetts DSMers. Hope that helps. :)

BTW this should have been placed in the New England Regional section, not the Newbie Forum.

As for my budget I dunno I think im looking in around the 3000-5000 range
I was going to purchase the kit myself
I wanted the shop to machine the block and head and install the parts
and no time frame, i want to do it over the winter so i guess a 4-5 month time frame. No rush

DSG is here in Norwood. Also there are a few down in the Hartford area in CT( Victor Research, Raif, and Turbo Tony both do great work( They are both on CCDSM)).
