hey i just thought i would tell everybody that i am officially joinging the boost community. I am going to pick up a black 96 eclipse gst in fl on sat :thumb: . I am in nc so i get to take a road trip with my pop.

I had a black 96 eclipse rs with a shit load of suspension work done it until wrecked it about a month ago :( I am pretty sure (~90%) i can still use all of my shocks, springs swaybars, ball joints and what not b/c the weren't damaged in the accident. But can someone tell for sure that a rs suspension bolts up to a gst?

I do need to find a motor for the car though b/c it "dun blowd up"...does anybody know where i can find a long block motor? I am planning on rebuilding one or it could be running from the get go and i could. let me know if you got one and we can discuss it.

any thoughts on what i should do after i get it running? btw i don't like to drag, and hate turbo lag...b/c i am a road racer by heart...thanks in advance

Congrats on the GS-T. I have not seen any 7 bolts for sale in NC in a while. Get it running and stick to a 16G and supporting mods for auto-x and no lag to start off with. After you get used to working on the car you can upgrade to different items. Good luck.

Do you want to get a 6 bolt or 7 bolt? Are you worried about crankwalk? IMHO it is overrated. I would do What HIGHPSI4 said and get a evo III 16g and supporting mods and then have a fun auto-x car. MAke sure you get all maintenance done first and foremost. Goodluck with the build and happy boosting! :thumb:

i would like to get a complete 6 bolt but if i just get the bottom end that would be cool too. The car is coming with a new turbo so i don't know exactly what i am getting just yet but i do really want a 16g. I am trying to build this to be a DD so i can't go too crazy but i would like to do a FMIC and a nice exhaust and DP but other than that, thats about it.

where do yall look for 6 bolt blocks besides the junk yard? is there a company that sells them relatively cheap?

thanks

I would look on here or local forums for a 6 bolt short block... You don't really need a long block and if you get the 2g head ported you will have an amazing engine. You might want to up fuel injectors and fuel pump for good measure.
