starting problem

so i was driving down the highway one day when i came up to a yield sign, so i slowed down looked both ways and my car just died on my. so i tryed to start back up but she wouldnt turn over, i saw a big oil spill on the road aswell. i ended up havin to get it towed back to my house and i found a nice big leak by my timing belt but can figure out what caused it any suggestions??

It could be the seal thats on the crank but I doubt it. I think its from around the oil housing oil pressure unit area. Where all the oil filter is. Defenitly a better pic needed though since this one is way blurry.

Looks to be a pic of the oil filter housing. Do you have a lower cover on your T-belt? If not then oil could have possibly gotten on the T-belt making it slip, and take teeth off...thus the car won't start. Will it crank though, or nothing happens at all? What kind of oil pressure were you seeing before this happened? Is it a small leak, or big leak, or does it look like something blew out?

i cant get a new pictures at the moment but when i started my car before the stall happened some plastic fell on the floor and it looks like this,maybe the timing belt cover...not sure tho, the car actually feels like its just about to turn over but just cant get it, but it is close though, its not dead when i turn the key.
