I just picked up this 90 talon Tsi for 600.00, The body is in great condition all stock owned by a old guy, really a steal will have pics up soon, The car runs and idles great better then any of my other DSM's but i have a problem:

When i hit the throttle before it goes over 3500RPM the motor sounds healthy and great but after that i hear the loudest rattle coming from the belt area, its really loud, not a knock though.. sounds like putting a coke can between the spokes of a bicycle tire. Anyone have any ideas of clues thanks.
:talon:

Does the noise sound like it's about twice to 3 times engine speed and sounds more like a Burrrr?

If you want a second oppnion I am in south sac.

Its really loud like 3 times the motor loud. Im in South Sac also, maybe we can meet up tomorrow possibly my other buddy with his laser is going to be around

You are not going to want to here want I am going to say:cry: At three times engine speed the front ballance shaft is coming apart. As I told another guy a couple days ago cut the oil filter open and see if it made metal.

I just went through it a few months ago.

I am going to PM you with my phone#
