Headlights/blinker issue

Alright, here's the problem. In short, the highbeams and blinkers are not working. Bulbs are checked, fuses are fine. Half my dash lighting seems not to be working either, and the bulbs are fine, but that may be another problem. I have a canadian car, so the headlights are always on as daytime running lights, and those still work fine. The hazard switch will not turn on the blinkers either. Breaklights do work. I have no idea where to go from there, anyone have any ideas?

I`d check the headlamp/combination switch first, I`ve seen them fail before . . .

So I talked to my friend who has been storing my car for the past 8 months while I've been at school, and he forgot to mention that this all happened when he jumped the car. I guess the dash lights went out and the blinkers stopped working at the same time. Am I going to have to pull the entire wiring system out and check everything?
