Yeah so I MIGHT be going to the track this weekend. If not it will be sometime this summer. But I just wanted to go because my buddies are going and I think it would be fun and good practice for me even if my car is basically stock, n/t and slow as hell haha. But anyways I just wanted to ask you guys what I should be launching at, and exactly how to launch on the drag. Any advise would be great. Thanks guys

Take it easy off the 60'. You don't wanna dump it the first time and wheelhop so bad you break your transmission. Start off the line slow the first time an dgo through all the gears fast then work on your launch. On a N/T you are gonna wanna launch around 4k to get what power you have available.

Alright thanks a lot guys. Also, I know this is a huge newb question haha but I'd rather know exactly what I'm doing before I get to the track. My question is about staging. Since I've never gotten a chance to try to launch on a completely flat surface as a drag I always drift a little before. I'm just assuming that you don't move at all on the strip, and that staging is simply holding your launch rev. Am I correct? Also can someone explain to me if staging is bad for your clutch? I know launching is haha.

I mean its not GREAT for your clutch. But then again your going to race it which any time you beat on your car isn't going to help you extend the life of it. The little abuse it will take at the track if you know how to drive isn't THAT bad. Most people don't go to the track more then a few times a year if that. When you are stagged (when both sets of lights are lit) you can rev it to where you wanna launch it and when it goes green slip it and go. It will be a sticky and flat service so you won't roll.

Shouldn't he go on the 2nd yellow not on the green. By the time you move when launching the second yellow it will turn green and if you wait for green you all have a late reaction time

Alright awesome, thanks for the advise guys. Like I said I might be going this weekend. If not definitely a few times this summer. If I do go I'll update you on my times and how I did :thumb:
