okay so in the me vs. my car battle once again I got K.O.'d, so a couple of nights ago i checked my cel's and they came up vss, and knock sensor, I fixed both tonight and am no longer throwing any cel's.... however I still can not get the idle to drop from the 2000 to 1500 rpm range(which it's been at since I got the car) so I need some advice to what you guys and gals may think could be the problem, all I want is to get this pile running right once and for all..

I have the biss all the way down, tps checked out good across all pins, no codes= really frustrated and confused..

thank you all,
Justin

What's your vac reading at? Checked for vacuum leaks? Did you remember to ground the diagnostic port pin and the connector on the firewall before playing with the BISS? Is your timing set correctly? Is your idle sensor wire attached? Is your throttle cable properly adjusted? Have you checked all your vacuum lines for cracking? Is it idle surging, or just sticking at 1500-2000 constantly?

No idea what the 'vss' DTC is, if it might be related.

m having the same problem... I cannot get my idle to go lower than 1200if I am lucky.. Most of the time its at 2000!! I loosened the throttle cable and that helped... Try resetting the ECU by leaving the battery disconnected then redo all you ignition timing and idle stuff... see if that helps... I was going to try that, but my car sprung a ruuuuddddeeeee oil leak the other night and I got to find that before anything

Good luck... These cars are fickle when it comes to idle..

thanks guys im going to do a boost leak test real quick to see if anything comes up, could not having the boost control solenoid not hooked up create a problem? any more ideas anyone?
