No does 6 bolt not = same 7 bolt.

Translation- No the 6 bolt pistons and rods are NOT the same at 7 bolt.

6 bolt rods are bigger then the 7 bolt therefore they hold more. While the 6 bolt pistons are not worse but not recomended. There compression is lower its 7:8.
7 bolt rods are thinner. While the pistons can hold more punishement usually. With a high compression as well.... weighing in at a whole 8:5.

can i put the 7 bolt pistons in the 6 bolt block?

Yea its quite common now. You have to have the 1g rods modified to fit the 2g pistons. The pin end has to be narrowed .100" and the pin hole opened up by 1mm. I am having a set done now at a machine shop for $75. Its a good cheap combo for the power it will hold
