removing 272 help please

I've actually done it outfront of a house, Without even removing the lower timing cover, Although I do not recommend it.

Read the install instructions, And go backwards.

Are you the one who installed the cams? If so, Then once you try getting them out, It is very very easy.

Um its the exact reverse of the install. Whats the issue? If you cant work backwards from an install you have no business working on the car

i bought the car with them on it. do i have to do anything with the timing?

You will need to set the timing once you put the cams/gears in the car. You can ziptie the belt to the gears and move them off to the side once you get the gears off the cams, But it is very hard getting the gears back on the cams when they are installed... and if your timing belt moves or skips teeth... You're going to be in for a rude awakening when you start the car. I suggest getting someone local to help, That knows what they are doing... Or take it to an actual experienced shop, It might cost you, But it's better then replacing a motor.

well im taking them off because like a week or two after they were put on the car the motor started tapping between 2500 rpms and 4000 rpms. i dont get that. the head is fully stock

Taking the cams out and putting stock ones in are not going to help with the knocking/ticking problems. I wonder why they did not install a better valvetrain with the 272's. It's not ''needed''.

If the noise started two weeks after the install you might want to check to see if there is anything else wrong with the engine.

Dang! Wish you were a little closer. I would come swap them out for you for the cams.
