Im going to have to agree..I have had a Profec B for years and it is a cinch.

I was originally against spending a decent buck to get one, but was very glad that I did. Its very convenient to be able to switch your boost with one touch of the button...

There are 3 knobs to adjust, one for Sharpness of boost, one for LOW setting and one for HI.

If used you can have three boost settings. If the Profec B is off, that is usually stock boost (10-12 psi). Then you can set the low and high to what you want. Mine are usually 18-20 and 25-27...

Im sure you can get one for a good deal now as they have been out awhile. Installation is extremely simple, and you can mount them where you would like to

I had the Greddy Profec Type S. Its super easy to use 3 knobs, one for gain & then 2 different boost levels. It worked great when it worked properly but out of the 1.5 years I owned it I only got to use it for maybe 1.5 months where it worked correctly. Was sent back twice for warranty repair. First time was because it had a software error (all the new units now shouldn't have this issue) that wouln't allow more then 20 psi max (with the smaller amount of gain I needed to run being it was on a small evoIII turbo, I could only get 17 psi). Took 4 months to get it updated with the new software. Got it back worked great for maybe 1.5 months at most then the gain went screwey & wasn't able to prevent large boost spikes even with the gain turned all the way down. Took another 4 months to get it repaired but this time they sent me a complete new unit, so I sold it (have had a 75% failure rate with Greddy products, so Im selling what I do have & no longer buying their products)

What I will be getting is the Apexi AVC-R controller. It may not be the easiest to program but it has gear & rpm based boost levels settings which are a huge plus for high hp fwd's. Run lower boost in the first 2 gears so your right at the edge of traction, then full boost from then on.

I'm using HKS EVC IV and no problems. There's a bit of a learning curve, but once you have it set, your good to go. With a simple push of a button (ALT) you can switch your boost settings from low to high.

The Blitz Dual Solenoid BC is very accurate and has been working great for me since 2000. However, as everyone else stated the Greddy is definitely easier to program.

darren p, let me know how that Apexi works out for you. I am going to relocate my Blitz closer to the shifter so that I can manually switch between my presets between shifts. Too bad I can't afford to drive around on R compounds.:sosad:

Well actually it may between the Apexi or the HKS EVC VI which looks pretty sweet as well. I think both will perform really well & do what I want but haven't read much on the HKS yet. I could have bought the remote steering wheel switcher for the Profec but I'm fed up with Greddy & I think gear selectable is even better/more convienent as you just set it & forget it & as far as I know you can have more then just 2 different levels.
